Working at a high-growth startup has been tough but also rewarding! We’ve learned a lot of lessons along the way - one of which is the fact that you’re only as good as your tech stack. It might seem like a minor issue for a company to think about, but we’ve found your choice of software can make or break your growth.
So, we’ve decided to share our thoughts on what the best software types out there are, and some ways in which we use them. Enjoy!
Calendly is a calendar booking tool that, as a minimum, hooks up to your calendar allowing people to see your availability when booking a meeting with you. But really, it does much more than that! It’s a simple, easy-to-use, yet powerful scheduling software, which aims to save time, accelerate sales and improve service quality. It eliminates the old-school way of using email and phone tags for scheduling appointments, calls, interviews, demos, and more.
For us, it gives us the power to set up our team’s calendars in the way that works best for our business - whether it’s a customer booking in to talk strategy, or a prospect looking for a software demo, it keeps everything moving forward and saves us hours of time.

If you haven’t heard of slack and you’re employed in 2020 then you might need to give yourself or your company a reality check. Branding themselves as the “alternative to email”, in the last 5 years, Slack has become the indisputable market-leading messenger app for businesses around the world. When it comes to Slack, a game-changer for our company is the number of integrations you can program into your company's account.
Not to mention the ease of which our teams can communicate together whether we’re working from home (pre and post COVID-19) or in the office. It’s a way for us to keep a pulse on what’s going on in our business inside and out.

If you’ve worked in B2B you know the difficulty in reaching your niche or generating a good list of contacts is REAL. Unlike our B2C equivalents, EVERYONE isn’t our customer, and it’s hard to find reliable ways to source new leads without resorting to overused, expensive, and inefficient email lists. Finding Seamless AI was like adding a yin to our yang. Calling themselves the “world's first live search engine” they use Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence as well as Data Science to help customers find their total addressable market, identify key accounts and contacts, source phone numbers, emails, and insights, as well as easily incorporate them into their CRM.

Zapier is a Growth Marketers’s best friend. In a nutshell, it connects your different tech stack together allowing you to send massive amounts of data between your platforms, without the need to code, anything. As Zapier says it “helps your tools work better together so you can save time and money”. We agree Zapier, we agree. Got a new lead? Zapier alerts us. Closed a big deal? Zapier alerts us. A customer wants to talk? I think you get the point…
In today’s software landscape, most savvy SaaS companies are using specific pieces of software to do specific tasks (hence this blog), Zapier is the key to connection. Any worthy platform has an integration or is working on it (like us - Q4, 2020!) because it’s become a way of life for those who use it.

What, you thought we weren’t going to do some shameless promotion? You were wrong. If you didn’t know, CoPilot AI is a lead generation tool that hooks up to your LinkedIn allowing you to take a manual task and automate it. We start conversations with your niche, at scale, and then we alert you when they’re interested in talking. But in all honesty, we have used our own software to grow for the last 2 years, and it's been a key driver in the success we’ve had. “Eat your own dog food” has never been so accurate. If you’re looking to grow your pipeline with leads, talk to us to learn how to tap into the LinkedIn network like you never have before.

Pleasing customers is hard. Pleasing customers, online, in 2020, is almost impossible. But, if you have the tools to talk to customers when they want to talk (ie. while they’re in your product or platform using the software) then there might be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Intercom is hands-down the market-leading in-app messaging platform which allows businesses to communicate to customers within their app, on their website, through social media, or via email. We use it for product communication, promotion, Help Articles, NPS scores, and much more! It’s easy to integrate and get started right away.

Grammarly has most likely saved our team thousands of times without us even knowing. Grammarly is a free writing app to make your online writing clear and effective. As a service business, we’re constantly writing customer emails, help materials, blogs and more so we need a tool that’s reliable and will alert us if we’re not communicating clearly or making any sense at all (it happens). The best part about it is that it’s free and it covers ALL online applications - even giving us suggestions in our own product.

Having visibility into your recurring revenue is arguably the most important aspect of a SaaS business. Chartmogul has allowed us to really keep an eye on what’s happening when it comes to money in and money out. It helps us understand the trends in our customer data effectively, tracking our cohorts when we’ve rolled out technology changes or altered our communications and customer support.
